Slightly turnt, mostly chill, always ready.

"Random Family" - Adrian Nicole LeBlanc

I found this gem by way of the wonderful world of Twitter. A friend (who I haven't met in person yet but so what?!) tweeted that she had just finished the book and would mail it to anyone who was interested. I jumped at the opportunity. It took me 4 days to finish & I thought I didn't have any more tears left after my last read. I was mistaken. This book was a dose of nostalgia, kicking up feelings of pain, frustration, hope, concern, & pride that I remember feeling growing up in The Bronx. I highly encourage you to read about the New York that so many have forgotten and believe is no longer here. As much as things have changed, a lot has stayed the same.
